The Tuesday walking group meet on the 1st Tuesday of each month. The group members take turns to research and organise a round walk of around 5 to 6 miles starting and finishing at a pub where we have lunch. If you would like to join us and be added to the circulation list please contact / speak to Tom Hutchinson and he will arrange for you to meet the group and see how it goes. We generally have around 8 walkers.
Unfortunately Groombridge Amateur Dramatic Society has had to postpone the play The Sunshine Boys. The leading man, was admitted to hospital yesterday and is not available. Covid has also reared its head among the team, some of whom are very vulnerable. The Society will announce the new dates with the preferred choice being the week immediately after Easter. Anyone with online booked tickets will be informed and offered options.
On Tuesday 7th February we visited Stationers’ Hall, a Grade I listed building, close to St Paul’s Cathedral in the City of London. It is one of the few ancient Livery Halls remaining in the City of London. After the tour a very enjoyable lunch was had at the nearby Ye Olde London pub.
We hope to be able to offers tours of other Livery companies and City institutions.

Chatham Dockyard was a Royal Navy Dockyard located on the river Medway in Kent established in Chatham in the mid-16th century. Sadly, due to a lack of bookings this event has been cancelled.
Details are now available for this year’s President’s lunch to be held at High Rocks, Tunbridge Wells where we will be thanking Brian Hughes for his leadership over the past 12 months and welcoming the incoming President Michael Sander. All members will receive a separate notification and a booking form via a Mailchimp broadcast e-mail.
A short, successful (4 mile) Thursday Walk, in icy but sunny conditions by Bewl Water; followed by a New Year Lunch celebration at “The Bull” near Ticehurst.

With the rain lashing down outside, now is the time to look forward to the golfing year on sun-kissed fairways that lies ahead. So your Golf Committee has arranged two outings in May and September 2023.
For the Spring meeting we’re returning to London Beach, near Tenterden. London Beach now have their former kitchen team in place again and have assured us that they will provide a full catering service.
Following a very interesting and thought-provoking talk by Jenny from Chailey Heritage Foundation at January’s monthly luncheon, we have today received a letter in which donations from the Club and individual members totalling £235 are acknowledged. Please click on Read more to access it.
The children and young people at Chailey Heritage rely on highly specialist equipment and services in order to pursue their potential and access every possible opportunity for independence. Funding for these services and facilities is only made possible thanks to voluntary donations. If you were unable to attend yesterday or would like to make a donation, contact details are included in this letter.
