A reminder to all Gentlemen members to complete the Virtual AGM ballot paper e-mailed to you separately last week and submit it (or return the hard copy) by Monday 2nd May 2022. Votes received after this date will not be counted.

Gentlemen members will all receive a broadcast e-mail today containing a link to the ballot paper for the AGM which once again this year is be organised on-line. Please ensure you complete this and submit (or return the hard copy) by Monday 2nd May 2022. Votes received after this date will not be counted.

It is nice to be able to report on an Ashdown Probus Club planned event which actually took place yesterday. Eleven members and partners took a trip up to London and enjoyed an interesting and informative tour of the Merchant Taylors’ Livery Hall in the City of London with a pub lunch afterwards.

It is unfortunate that we have had to cancel the April lunch & AGM due to the covid infection rates at the Beacon Golf Club.

We will monitor the situation but if there is no change, in the short term, then it would be a strong possibility that we would have to conduct the AGM as an online virtual event for the third time.

We have been advised by the Golf Club that they are heavily affected by Covid at the moment and many staff are absent with the virus. Your committee has therefore taken the decision that we should not go ahead with the monthly luncheon next Monday and accordingly have postponed the AGM until a later date.
