The Charterhouse’s mission is to provide housing, care and support for older people in need, while sharing its heritage and preserving it for future generations. Today The Charterhouse is home to a community of Brothers. However, its story is much more than the story of the almshouses as we will hear on the guided tour of this fascinating historical gem hidden in the heart of London. A professional guide leads the tour to see the highlights of The Charterhouse, explaining the history of the site and pulling out some highlights from the collection of artefacts on display in the museum. The tour commences at 11.30 a.m. and lasts for approximately 1 hour and afterwards we’ll find a conveniently situated City pub for lunch.
