It is with great sadness that we have to report that Malcolm Sanger died last Monday evening. Malcolm had been ill with non-smokers lung cancer and was undergoing treatment for that. Almost three weeks ago he was taken into Pembury with various blood clots and pneumonia. He was discharged last Friday but took a turn for the worse over the weekend and was being taken into hospital again on Monday evening but died in the ambulance.

Malcolm was a very community minded person. He was instrumental, with other Crowborough Round Tablers, in helping to set up the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow appeal. He was chairman of Crowborough Round table in 1977 and followed this by almost forty years as a member of Crowborough Rotary Club where he was president.

Malcolm’s first wife, Esme, died some years ago and he subsequently met Helen through Rotary and they were married two years ago.

Our condolences go to Helen and to Malcolm’s three children and their families. Funeral details will be advised as soon as they are known.
