On Thursday 11th May a group of Probus members and wives made the journey to Greenwich and met up with our Blue Badge guide Vanessa Fagan by the Cutty Sark. Vanessa started her commentary with some interesting facts about the famous old tea clipper before we all set off around Greenwich. We paused at the Hawksmoor church of St. Alphege, the Maritime museum and The Queen’s House ending up in the Old Royal Naval College grounds having learnt about the history of these famous places laced with one or two amusing anecdotes from Vanessa. Our next planned outing is to Rochester on Friday 2nd June.
