London Beach Hotel, Ashford Rd, St Michaels, Tenterden, Kent, TN30 6HX

The first weekend in June saw the Ashdown Probus Golf Society return to London Beach, near Tenterden for two days of golf. It’s a venue that we’ve visited a number of times and it was good to see that the hotel is now back up to its pre-pandemic standard again with spacious accommodation, good food and friendly service. And it was particularly gratifying after the miserable weather we’ve endured for most of this year so far to have two warm and sunny days for the event. The golf course was challenging, especially the first hole, which, with its oak tree and pond in front of the green, was the subject of much debate. The Ladies Bowl was won this year by Lyn Watson, with Levitha Hughes coming in second. In the Men’s competition Paul Black took The Sandy Kitchen Cup. Tom Hutchinson was runner-up. All in all a very pleasant trip and we hope to return there next Spring.
Our next event is a visit to the Weald of Kent Golf Centre 29th -30th September. So if you fancy a couple of days of friendly golf with your fellow Probus members and their partners, you will be warmly welcomed. Please contact Brian Hughes or Tom Hutchinson whose contact details can be found in the Golf Society section of this website.
