Here is an Ashdown Probus Club Outing you are sure to enjoy. A luxury coach from Crowborough to London’s Festival Pier then lunch onboard the Windsor and Maidenhead Boat company’s riverboat ‘The Georgian’ whilst cruising on the Thames.
Several of us enjoyed a cruise on this riverboat at Windsor last year and we’re sure it will not disappoint this time round. The included Fish ‘n Chips lunch is served in a spacious panelled dining room below decks. There’s also a well stocked bar and a marvellous upper open deck with plenty of space to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Thames on a pleasant (hopefully) September day.
We’ll cruise downstream to Canary Wharf and upstream to Vauxhall taking in all the famous central London landmarks but which, when seen from the river, always give the viewer a fresh perspective on the buildings and monuments we know so well. The two hour cruise returns to the Southbank where you’ll have some free time before the homeward journey – arriving back in Crowborough at around 6.30 p.m.
We’ve got ‘The Georgian’ to ourselves for this outing and we’re hoping for at least 40 members and guests (feel free to invite a friend or two) so please book early to avoid disappointment. This Outing will be one of the highlights of Ashdown Probus Club’s events this year.
