RAMBLING OUT OF LOCKDOWN

By 07/07/2020Members Only

Inspired by our leader, John Bennett, on Friday last (3rd July) members of the Friday Walking Group decided to take advantage of the relaxation in the lockdown restrictions and take a walk on Ashdown Forest. Most of us were a bit rusty after three months of enforced inactivity, so the walk was fairly gentle –a circular route of just over 4 miles from Box car park. It was fortunately a clear day, albeit a little breezy, and the views were of course magnificent.

John very kindly provided cold lagers with bread, cheese and pickle to round off the morning, eaten of course al fresco with strict adherence to lockdown rules.

It was good to be able to meet again face to face, even though we had to maintain the proper social distancing. Let’s just hope that this is a first small step in the gradual return to normal.
