Annual Summer Picnic report

Wednesday 7th August

The British Summertime weather can be unpredictable, but weather-wise a delightful afternoon, with high clouds and frequent spells of sunshine, made this year’s Summer Picnic a very special occasion.

Over thirty members enjoyed the ambience of David and Susan Homewood’s garden which was in full bloom, with an array of different colours. For the horticulturists among us there was plenty to experience with colourful borders, fruit trees and a variety of different shrubs.

For the more energetic there was the opportunity to learn the skilful art of croquet and a few members tried their hands at this rather strategic classical lawn game.

This was an event where everybody brought their own Picnic and as you can see from the photos the culinary delights were very appetising especially supported by the odd bottle of wine.

It was a very pleasant afternoon and a big thank you to David and Susan for their hospitality and opening up their garden for us all to share.
